Those of you who participated in the 'Summer In The City' Clothing Swap on Sunday know that there is no other group quite like ours! Our event was absolutely swaptastic! Thank you all for sharing a green, glam & charitable afternoon with us! From the swappers themselves to each and every glam team member who volunteered their time, talent and services to our lovely fashionistas, I personally thank you for turning this clothing swap into something extra special!
Not only were our members spoiled rotten with hair up-do's, facials, make-overs and massages ~ but they also walked away with awesome door prizes, a belly full of fantastic BBQ pork sandwiches and of course as much free clothing, shoes and accessories they cared to take home with them!
The Swap Til Ya Drop Frenzy was Super Glammed up by Our AWESOME KICK AZZ GLAM TEAM~ with Masseuse Team Hands From Heaven (Frugal Fashionista Stacey Stith), Master Stylist "Mr. Beau" who provided hair do-ups and styles for most of our fashionistas and Cosmo Girl Nikki Marsh on makeovers, facials and glam tips! Nikki gave a few classes to some of our interested fashionistas on the proper use and application of different types of make-up and skin tone types. Special thanks to DJ Phanatic for spinning records & rockin' the swap for us, Aleasia's Passion Photography for providing us with great photos & 3 LIL' PIGS BBQ Service for capturing the essence of the "Summer In The City" Themed Charity Swap! You all did a bang-up job!
Even after all of the swapping was finished, we still wound up with 23 large bags of clothing, shoes & accessories to donate to the Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter! 23 BAGS Filled to rim and nearly bursting! Thank you all for bringing in so many items and cleaning out your closets so thoroughly! lol We also collected a few boxes of: some puzzles, books, knick knacks, small appliances, toys, linens, decor and other household goods! This is an important part of the Frugal Fashionista Swap as we donate to abused women's shelters. The women from the shelters are literally starting over after leaving their entire lives behind and really need just about everything for their new apartments and their children. As long as one person can carry the item, it's the right size;)
During this swap we started collecting dry boxed cake mixes for the FREECAKES4KIDS Foundation too! I put the information out for this pretty late so I didn't expect that many people to donate! Thank you!!! To learn more about the program ~ visit the website at http://www.freecakesforkids.com/ One of our very own Frugal Fashionista's, Maddie, runs a chapter right here in Virginia! We will be collecting dry boxed caked mixes from now on at each clothing swap to support this great program.
For those who missed it or those that came late and missed the good stuff~ all I can say is try to make the next one or get there on time because it really was something GREAT! For those who RSVP'd but did not show, please know that we still had to pay for your plate... just as we said would happen if you didn't let us know you were not coming. It's important to update your RSVP's accordingly, not just as a courtesy for all of the hard work that gos into hosting these events, but also to avoid a financial burden...
I had a wonderful time hosting it and once again, made some beautiful new friends! Thank you sista fashionistas for being Green, Glam & Charitable! You are the most wonderful group of people and I am really proud to know you!
